Friends of Sikinga aims to support children financially to enable them to get the best education that they can.

So far we have put 9 children through Secondary School. Two have gone further to University and Training College (we have not funded these). We now have 4 continuing at Secondary School and 6 who have just started. Each needs £200 per year as the government only pays a small amount towards the fees, some have to stay in boarding accommodation, and all have to pay for uniform, exam fees and various levies charged by the school.

We now only have a small number in Primary School, which costs about £50 per year, because we want to continue to support the ones who have now gone through Primary School into Secondary.

We have recently heard the results of last year's form four exams: Below are results for some of our sponsored candidates. One or two results are still to come in.

Well done to all of you! Below is a note from Godrick to say thanks. At our forthcoming AGM you can see letters of appreciation from more of our students. Do come!

'It is my great pleasure to write down this letter to recognise your support in sponsorship, hoping with all hopes that you are well as I am. My great gratitude is to give thanks for that support until the end of my four years' course in Khasoko High School where I received my best. I would like to finalise that I still call for your sponsorship because I am looking forward to bettering my best at university level. Thanks and thanks a lot! May the almighty God continue blessing you for your goodness in great concern for our education'
(Unfortunately we are not able to pay university fees as our resources are limited).

Some of the sponsored students sent letters of thanks to Friends of Sikinga. Here are some extracts:

Violet: "I am in Form 4 in Mungore Girls School. Thank you for your help since Primary School to where I am now. I am very happy and impressed with your good help to us."

Sharon: "I am now in Class 7 and look forward to joining Secondary School in two years' time. I hope you will still support me through Secondary School."

Josephat: "I learnt in Sikinga Primary School in Class 7 and was in position 4 out of 82 with 320 marks. I think I will work hard in Class 8 to get good marks!"

Godrick: "I greatly appreciate the help you gave me to be where I am now. I am a student in Form 4 of Khasoko Boys School and I am very determined to work hard so that your help may bear fruit........ Be blessed!"
