A letter from Milton, who takes care of administration in Sikinga on behalf of FOS
October 2009

Dear Friends.
Receive greetings from Sikinga. We are greatly honored to be associated with you especially the Burnley community. On behalf of the people of Sikinga I want to thank all those who have donated something towards helping the folk at Sikinga in various ways for the past decade.
Ten students have been able to complete their secondary school course successfully. Two of them qualified to join university while the rest got grades that will enable them to be admitted in various colleges. Seven more are completing their secondary course this year (2009), that means the number will increase to fifteen.
Members of Entokia B Christians group have also benefited through individual donations of dairy cows (not from FOS) and this has improved their lives greatly.
We still have a lot of needy cases at hand and we pray that God will enable them go through as well. We have a group of sixteen secondary school students and twelve primary pupils. Right now the government is struggling to make available free primary school education but it has not succeeded yet. The small amount we give to primary pupils is to enable them get other necessary school items which are not provided like uniforms, bags to carry their books, shoes etc. As for secondary school, the government only takes care of a small fraction and due to the increased cost of food and other items, the head teachers are forced to increase fees to meet the costs. This year the least amount we paid was Ksh. 22,000.Averagely it came to Ksh. 25,000.
We also congratulate Burnley Football Club(CLARETS) for their good performance in the English premier league. We support you a lot. Keep up.
