FOS Committee Meeting: 26th April 2010 - St.Peter's Church, Burnley
Present: Mrs P.Spurin in the chair and all members present apart from Miss.J.Spencer and Mr.D.Kilpatrick.
Minutes: The last meeting's minutes were read and approved.
Matters Arising:The pennant is still for sale on ebay. There has been no response from Rotary or from the Freemasons for financial help. Terry Murnane does not think that the project fits in with his work at the Burnley Campus.
Financial Report: Things have improved and we now have £XXXX in the bank. St.Peter's have donated £500 and £166 has been received in Gift Aid. David James has completed a sponsored walk in aid of FOS and this sum is yet to come in. It was decided that we should send this balance out to Sikinga immediately and retain the sponsor money as a balance in the account.
Future Funding, Publicity and Website: The website continued to meet with approval. Viewing statistics were handed out to members present. The online donation facility has now been active for several weeks; hosted by Charity Choice, and there is no cost to FOS or our donors.
The Chairman said that she was still awaiting up to date information from Sikinga and that until this is received she has told the Sikinga committee that we will find it difficult to keep up funding arrangements.
We have arranged for £1,000 to be sent through to assist with the funding of the catering project.
AGM Arrangements: The AGM will be held at the United Reform Church on Friday 11th June at 7:30pm, when the speaker will be Canon Wilding of Knott End on Sea. David James is to prepare 12 posters for display locally and the Secretary is to notify the community through the Burnley Express.
Date of Next Meeting: Monday 4th October 2010 at St.Peter's
Note: Minutes subject to approval at next meeting.
